A Tale of Two Hockey Games

So....two hockey games...ah yes...we were all out last night watching hockey...kind of. Why kind of? Well, Ivan was at the Leaf Game...do I have to say more. Ok, so they won. While daddy was sitting in luxurious platinum seats, shooting the breeze with Don Cherry and Ron Maclaen the rest of the family was sitting on wooden benches at a charity game in Grimsby. And I say kind of watching the game because actually we were there for Kaelyn who was being a trooper and out there cheerleading!

Getting ready for the big game was fun...how cold would we be? Good thing we brought an extra sweater, hey Kaelyn

Kaelyn's cheerleading team was down by the cold ice doing their cheers for both teams. Kaelyn is called a "flyer"...that means she is at the top of the stunts....way up high!

While Kaelyn was being a trooper down at the ice, Papa and Jacob were being troopers in the stands! They did actually watch the hockey game...

Here are little snippits of Kaelyn's cheerleading team. The first one Kaelyn is up in a stunt and the second one is of the junior team. They practice after Kaelyn on Thursday and we often stay to watch them. It is a lot of fun.

We finished off our evening watching the rest of the Leaf Hockey game...kind of. We were looking for daddy in the stands. We did see him in the highlights...it wasn't too hard to pick him out thanks to Uncle Bryan....who was wearing a orange hat...backwards. And one last picture for those of you who care...Ivan really was shooting the breeze with Ron Maclaen....

A Visit from our Curly Jenn

Many of you have heard the kids talk about Curly Jenn!

Well, here she is...the one and only

As you can see in the twinkle of Kaelyn's eyes she is a very welcomed guest in our home.

I have known Jenn for about three years. We grew up next door to eachother but didn't know it! I am so thankful to the Lord for the friendship we have built. We also praise God as Jenn is growing spiritually. We pray that the Lord will give her the strength, wisdom and courage that she needs as she continues to learn about her Saviour!

"May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Just another day...

After I pull Kaelyn out of bed and fight with her to get dressed, eat, hair done and teeth brushed, by the time she gets to school she has a smile on her face. She loves her teacher Mrs. Poort and today her smile was even bigger as she had show and tell. She took her pal, Cookie...what a treat!

While Kaelyn is at school, Jacob keeps himself busy at home. A little bit of this and a little of that. But his favourite is playing outside in the snow and on the ice. A good game of hockey with Daddy is a daily must!

A work in progress

Ok...turn down your volume(so you don't have to hear my voice), crank your neck sideways and have patience....these are unedited, unflipped and a little long. This is a work in progress and hopefully I will progress :) If the video does not appear...then I am still figuring this out...

Jacob has become our man of the outdoors. This morning he was out "cabogganing" on our hill in the backyard before breakfast. He couldn't believe his eyes when he awoke this morning and the hills were all white covered!

Who is the apple of Kaelyn's eye? DADDY, of course. An outdoor rink, a beautiful pair of white figure skates and precious time....who could ask for more! Everyday Kaelyn is out on the rink practicing her "moves". She gets braver and braver each time...with no fear of falling she is already doing a lutz...or is it a toe loop...or is it a flip...we will try to get that on video next!
