A visit to Housten...

What a blessing the Lord has blessed our family with!
A new little man!

I was spoiled with a visit out to Housten to visit with
Kristen, Hendrik, Avery and George Thomas!

It was a very special time for me

and I am so thankful that I had the opportunity

to make the journey to northwest corner of our country!

It is absolutely beautiful up there

and as I was reminded frequently....
there is NO humidity

(thank you Hendrik for that constant reminder...
I came home to hot, humid sticky weather!)

I do have to clarify a one thing before I continue....
all this wild life that Hendrik and Kristen talk about
(moose, bears, deer, foxes, eagles)
seems to be something they have imagined up!
The closest thing I saw to wildlife was a mosquito!

Although the scenery was breathtaking

I somehow forgot to take some pictures of it....
I think I was a little preoccupied with

God's beautiful gift of children

P.S.....Although I enjoyed my trip a lot I did miss my husband and children very very much! It was really nice to come home to them and again I am thankful for God's beautiful gift of family.

I Can Hardly Believe It....

but.....

SCHOOL IS ALMOST OUT!!!!

I think I say this every time but I can't believe that it is almost June.

It doesn't seem that long ago that my knees were knocking as I put Kaelyn and Jacob on the bus for the first time.

Remember.

Well, school is now almost done and I am amazed once more at how our children have such an amazing ability to take things in and learn.

Kaelyn had a little bit of a rough start to Grade One but according to Miss Wieringa she deserves a medal for how much she has learned and accomplished this year.

Yes, I am a proud mom.

Although Jacob still complains a lot about going to school he likes it when he is there. He has made it through the year fine.....he is still alive despite the fact that Kaelyn could shoot him every morning for making her late. Although he is "in his own world" he managed to make it through kindergarten without having to stand in the hall with his nose to the wall! And of course a bonus....He is reading already!

Yes, I am a proud mom.

This year's mother's day was so much fun. I learned a lot about myself....

and about what my kids think of me.

Every now and then Kaelyn likes to play school....she is a perfect model of her teacher!
