As per usual our trips are always filled with some kind of excitement. This time we had the pleasure of driving up in the middle of a huge snowstorm. A 6-7 hour drive quickly turned into a 11-12 hour drive.
By the time we were close to where we had to go it was so dark and all the road signs were covered in snow! Needless to say we managed to find our destination with only a few wrong turns but we would have to wait another evening to see the mountain.
In the morning we were able to set out and do a little exploring of the village...
Again...we always seem to have something go not quite right.
This time we had a family check into our room at 2:00 in the morning. Luckily we had the chain on and they didn't get farther than the second door....you never know what you could be doing at 2:00 at night!
However in good Ivan fashion we were able to make a negative into a positive....
free sking, free parking, free breakfast...
So despite the fact that I wasn't going sking I was able to go all the way to the top of the mountain and send Ivan off down the hill...and snap some pics!
Oh...did I also mention that we were able to enjoy the evening activities for FREE as well! Despite my hesitation to go out in -20 weather Ivan convinced me to dress warm and hit the hills...the small tubing one!
Although this was supposed to be a get-a-way for the two of us we did end up with an additional traveller. This little furry friend was given to us by Kaelyn before we left so we wouldn't forget her....so he came with us where ever we went!
Of course you always save the best for last....while Ivan was enjoying the slopes I was spoiled to have my very first massage....and little Ruffy got to come along too!
When it was time to go home it was neat to see everything that we had missed in the storm on the way in....one last look!
