OUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS

In the beginning of the summer we were invited to go to Marineland with our Pastor's wife, Keri and daughter Rachel. We had a lot of fun and ended up getting seasons passes. The kids really enjoyed the rides and were brave enough to tackle the big roller coaster and the sky screamer....we went back about three times during the summer!

AT THE COTTAGE WITH OUR COUSINS

At the end of July we spent some time with our Kottelenberg cousins. It was so nice to spend some time with Auntie K, Uncle Hendrik, Avery and Baby George

AUGUST

During the weeks when we didn't have too much planned we would head to the beach....yup we have our own beach here in Grimsby!

Hmmmm......do you think she might be related to me....

AUGUST 22-24

The second last weekend of our summer holidays we were once again blessed to join the Vaisanens at their cottage in Birks Falls. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs!

Ivan and the kids and myself were in "big toy" glory!

CANOES - PADDLE BOAT - ATVS - MOTOR BOAT

Taking the ATV out was fun. Ivan took several rides with the kids out on the trails and they loved their little rides around the cottage in the wagon....

The kids had lots of fun playing in the sun and making things. They found a spot in the lake that had clay, they filled up shaped ice cube trays and then baked them in the sun. I was a little skeptical....I didn't think much would come out of it but I was proved wrong!

Canoe Ride

One of the highlights was "FACING OUR FEARS"

After Harriet and I took a little paddle boat over to these cliffs and dared each other to jump off we had no choice but to prove it too the kids. It wasn't long before the kids were climbing up and going for it.

And then there was the boat! A new experience for the kids! They absolutely loved it. We had lots of fun tubing. Jacob especially was a trooper....he even went in the tube by himself.

Mom and Jacob had a nice long ride...Jacob just kept putting his thumb up...the sign for go faster! I was so determined not to get dumped that when we finally were flown of we went around twice before we let go!

Trying to get daddy to spill was lots of fun to watch too....

Water sking was a different story. Ivan hadn't done it for many many years! However he made it look so easy. He was up right away and on one ski before you knew it!

I on the other hand spent probably half of the boats gas tank trying to get up but with lots of determination I finally did make it up....not exactly the prettiest sight...but still an accomplishment!
